A "mixed school" integrating a kindergarten and a compulsory education school was planned on a site overlooking Mount Asama. In planning the school, emphasis was placed on a large space where children of various ages and adults can learn while mixing with each other, and where various stimuli, such as books, tools, materials, and the surrounding nature, are nearby, so that activities can begin whenever they feel like it.
