The Advanced Technology Research Institute was built by consolidating the existing research institute on the same site and the research institute in Itabashi. The site is in a residential area with many low-rise houses, and the façade is composed of openwork brick screens that combine multiple patterns in order to respect the surrounding area, including exposed ducts, equipment piping, and privacy.
