KESEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, was hit by the tsunami that followed the Great East Japan Earthquake. After the earthquake, a large-scale housing development and resettlement took place, and this elementary school was planned as the central facility. Each building is constructed with a different wooden structure. The central firewall of the classroom building is made of wood to ensure the structural balance of the entire building.
