Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture--The cafe is located in the Akao Herb & Rose Garden on the coast of Sagami Bay in Atami City. The roof is supported by a wood-like structure made of laminated 80 mm square thin cypress wood in the center of a square plane of approximately 140 m2. Twelve carbon fibers arranged in a radial pattern connect the foundation to the hanging wall above the opening, securing the laminated structure and making it resistant to shaking caused by earthquakes and wind.
