SALHAUS
Outline
This is a plan for a new junior high school built through the integration of three junior high schools that were damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The school buildings, with large wooden roofs made of local lumber, are located on a hill with a good view of Hirota Bay and surround the ground as a symbol of reconstruction. As the first reconstruction project in Rikuzentakata City, it is expected to become a place for the local community, and the design was carried out through a series of workshops for students, teachers, and local residents.
