KAJIMA DESIGN
Outline
In the Shinjuku Mitsui Building (completed in 1974; design: Mitsui Fudosan, Nippon Design Office, Mutoh Structural Dynamics Laboratory), six super-large seismic control devices (TMDs) are installed on the roof to reduce shaking in the event of long-period seismic motion. The photo shows a mock-up full-scale test model assembled at the Kajima Mechanical Engineering Center (Odawara City). The construction work is underway to be completed in April 2015.
