This is a project for the Setouchi Art Festival 2013 Summer Season, using a factory for fishing and iriko processing that was closed down due to typhoon damage a few years ago. It is a community development center for studying the culture and history of Ibukijima together with the islanders. It was designed using fishing equipment, scrap wood, and household items that were brought in to live in during the fishing season. The activities of the laboratory will continue even after the end of the exhibition, with the islanders as researchers.
