This is a project to construct a culture and art studio under the elevated railway line between Kanabashi and Sueyoshi Bridge in Naka-ku, Yokohama. The project consists of four buildings plus the Kaedan Plaza, which functions as a gallery, cafe, studio, meeting place, and plaza. The facility is managed and operated by the Koganecho Area Management Center, an NPO, as a base facility for promoting the regeneration of the district through culture and art. Kaedan Hiroba is a place where citizens can take the initiative in improving their living environment. Citizens were invited to submit proposals for the development of hardware in their neighborhoods, and the proposals selected in an open contest were given subsidies for the development of the plaza.
