The area around Shibuya Station was designated as an Urban Renewal Emergency Development Area in 2005. In particular, in the central area of the station, a development plan is being carried out in conjunction with the functional renewal of station facilities based on the "Shibuya Station Central Area Urban Development Guidelines 2010" formulated in 2010.
