This is a hospital with more than 1,350 beds (789 beds in Tama General Medical Center and 561 beds in Children's General Medical Center), which is a consolidation of two base hospitals, Tama General Medical Center and Children's General Medical Center. It is the third largest acute care hospital in Japan. The common entrance connecting the two hospitals is a hospital mall with facilities for living convenience, creating a lively street-like space.
