Outline
This one-story house stands at the foot of Tsurukubi-yama (also known as Hachiman-yama) in Omi Hachiman. It has a corridor plan with rooms arranged around a central courtyard. The walls are covered with burnt cedar shingles, and the roof and the nine towers are finished with hand-bent copper sheets. The walls of the main rooms are covered with Gamo clay. Each of the towers has a tea ceremony room, a guest room, a loft for the children's room, and a stairwell for lighting.
