The house is located in a suburban residential area sloping down toward lake biwa. a gable-roofed volume surrounds the courtyard in a cloister style to maintain privacy. the volume has a large opening to the courtyard and an irregular hexagonal shape so that the view of lake biwa can be seen from many places inside the house.
