The site is located in a suburban residential area with a field across the road and a small hill to the west. the roof shape and layout are designed to avoid the diagonal line on the north side and to use up the maximum eave height limit of 7 m. the volume and the distance between the adjacent buildings are aligned with those of the neighboring houses. in both plan and section, the proportions of the columns, beams, joinery, and pitch of joints are determined by a 455mm grid as a guide.
