House in Miyagino

Outline
This is a newly constructed house on an alternative site that was plotted out for a new planned road. A turret-shaped volume is placed in the center of the house, and windows are placed on the upper four sides of the volume to create a sunroom that brings in light and secures a view even in a residential area lined with two-story buildings. The living spaces are arranged in a U-shape around the turret. By raising the roof with a gentle cubic curvature higher than the second floor of the turret, various places with different ceiling heights are created.
