This house is located in the suburbs of Takada, Joetsu City, where 1.5 to 2 meters of snow is expected in winter. The house is based on a "Denoji" plan for the children's household, combined with a "Meji" plan for the parents' household, to maintain an appropriate distance between the households and to anticipate changes in the family structure. The wooden structure is hand-hewn, with mortise and tenon holes, and does not rely on hardware alone.
