Toshiaki Ishida Architect & Associates
Outline
The house was completed in 1989 (published in this magazine 8908). The house is wide open to the northeast, with a view of the city. Beams and canes protrude like branches from the six pillars, which are two stories high, and support the floor, walls and roof. Twenty-four years have passed since the house was handed over in an almost skeletal state, but the owner has continued to work on it as his family has grown, and it has undergone a major transformation, with partition walls, additional floors, and a finished ceiling.
