RYUICHI ASHIZAWA ARCHITECTS & associates
Outline
The building is located on a slope near Shuri Castle. The space is open to the north and south on high floors, where the wind blows from below, and a deep space under the eaves, known as the rain edge, is built to block the intense sunlight. In addition, wire nets are used to green the walls in the hope of moderately blocking the light and the surrounding lines of sight. While coping with the strong typhoons that visit the house several times a year, the space is designed to be close to the richness of nature by using wooden fittings.
