HAMA HOUSE,HAMA1961

Outline
Nihonbashi Hamacho has been owned by Zenjiro Yasuda, the founder of the Yasuda Zaibatsu, since the Meiji period (1868-1912), and is an area with a mixture of old streets and buildings. In recent years, Yasuda Real Estate Co., Ltd. has been promoting redevelopment of the area, utilizing idle land and renovating existing buildings to create small dots in the town. The newly built Hama House (left) houses a bookstore and cafe, and small offices for creators, while HAMA1961 (right), a renovated warehouse, houses shops and design studios.
