SUKAGAWA DAINI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Outline
This is a project to reconstruct an elementary school in the central city of Sukagawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, while using the existing school buildings. The ground was not used as the site for the school building, and the plan was carried out while securing space for construction and a playground for the children at each stage of construction. The school building is 95.7 m long and three stories high, which is reminiscent of the horizontally extending wooden school buildings of the time of the school's founding, while minimizing the traffic line to the existing gymnasium.
