DAIGOKUDEN, THE FORMER IMPERIAL AUDIENCE HALL, NARA, PALACE

Outline
This wooden structure was used by the emperor for national ceremonies such as his accession to the throne and the New Year's Day morning celebration in the early Nara period. It is 44m wide, 20m deep, and 27m high from the ground. A seismic isolator is installed inside the platform to meet the current Building Standard Law.
