ISHIDA BAIGAN MEMORIAL MUSEUM

Outline
A new memorial hall has been built in the rural hillside where the birthplace of Edo-period philosopher Ishida Baigan is located. The building was constructed 600 mm below the level of the birthplace to highlight it. In addition to the garden at the rear, the landscape of the entire site was enhanced by adding new stonework that complements the birthplace. The facility is operated by a designated management entity appointed by the city.
