Little Island
Thomas Heatherwick
- Outline
- A water park and outdoor performance space on the Hudson River. Inspired by the wood pile remnants of a pier, the concrete piles expand at the tops and merge into giant planters to create a topography of varying elevations. 132 planters, patterned after the ice formations around the piles, will be planted with over 100 species of climate-appropriate plants.
