- The roof was constructed as a collaborative educational incubation project between industry, government, and academia at Tokyo Gakugei University. 80 mm thick concrete was poured on the formwork of 963 differently shaped CLT panels processed at VUILD's (Representative: Hiroki Akiyoshi) own factory. Geometric algorithms for curved surfaces and algorithms for automatic panel placement and shape generation enabled the automatic generation of CAD models and efficient panel placement in a short period of time. Plants are planted in the surrounding area, and the architecture is designed to transform into a forest over 100 years.
