- Outline
- Architects and urban/civil engineering consultants collaborated from the proposal stage to develop the construction plan, development design, and architectural plan for this steeply sloping site that used to be a forest. Seven wooden buildings, each close to the scale of a house, are arranged in a checkerboard pattern on six levels created by a scaled-down retaining wall, and the buildings are connected to each other by a corridor via a gable. Roof slopes and colors were planned based on a sampling of the surrounding environment. The project integrates civil engineering and architecture, smoothly connecting the surrounding environment and the children's activity space.
