- By applying tension, a large span was achieved with thin timbers. The beams, each 90 x 75 mm in cross section and 4 m long, are made of 6 cedar lumber from the prefecture at a maximum length of 4 m. They are arranged in two tiers with a pitch of 455 mm, and the ends are pulled with bolts to introduce tension, covering a maximum span of 23 m. The beams are lattice-crossed at an angle to ensure surface rigidity. The beams were lattice-crossed diagonally in order to secure the rigidity of the plane.
