- This reddish-brown concrete house-shaped mass in a Swiss mountain village is a musician's studio, newly built in exactly the same volume as the old barn that existed before. The gabled roof is two-thirds cut away to form a courtyard with a large elliptical opening, and the remaining one-third is used as interior space. The rosette ornamentation, both large and small, is a pattern carved into the formwork by a woodworker, and is embossed in relief on the concrete, creating shadows on the surface. The abstract and the decorative are intermingled through a single material, standing serenely with mystery and mystique.
