Rock Print

Outline
When the formwork is finally removed, the pebbles remain only at the point where the string was placed without collapsing. This allows the sculptural form to appear as if it were glued together by cement. When the string is removed, all of the material is immediately disassembled, returning to the pile of pebbles and a single roll of string. A collaboration between the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The photo on the right was constructed in Winterthur, Switzerland, in 2018.
