- Google's new workplace was to reflect the company's philosophy of "open collaboration," while being flexible enough to respond quickly to changing needs and evolve over time. The steel roof between the columns forms a cluster of canopies separated by high windows. The canopies are covered with photovoltaic panels developed specifically for this project and designed to seamlessly connect with adjacent metal tiles, allowing for the production of large amounts of electricity on campus.
