Park Library in Belen, Medellin
Hiroshi Naito, Yu Nakai, Yoshiyuki Kawazoe, Landscape and Civic Design Lab The University of Tokyo
- Outline
- It is one of the five park-library projects planned for the city of Medidin, once notorious for its drug cartels, and is the core of an urban renewal plan to make the city safer by improving educational standards. A square water plaza is surrounded by a cluster of facilities, and two more plazas, one east and one west, are located facing the street. Locally available construction materials were used, and the joints between the walls and the shed frames were designed to eliminate construction errors.
