- This technical college covers an area of 40 hectares, including a training forest. The facilities are distributed throughout the satoyama, and are connected by forest walks centered on the community stage. The building uses a "hell face grid," a load-bearing wall that resists moments without the need for metal fixtures, and a tree-like three-dimensional truss with a continuous cane structure, and a total of 86,000 thinned trees were used for each part of the building. The analysis method for the latticework was devised by structural engineer Masahiro Inayama, and was certified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
