Yokosuka Museum of Art

Outline
The site is a valley topography, facing the sea on one side and surrounded by mountains on the other three sides. The interior of the steel plate is used for the exhibition space, while the space between the steel plate and the glass is used for the restaurant and workshop rooms, as well as a plaza around the perimeter. The steel plate welded on site creates an abstract exhibition space with a continuous ceiling and walls, through which natural light diffuses into the interior through holes in the plate, and a fragmented view of the surrounding environment.
