International Library of Children’s Literature

Outline
The former Imperial Library (first phase: 1906, second phase: 1929), which was not even one-third of the original plan, was rehabilitated as a library dedicated to children's books, and the existing exterior walls were made interior by inserting two glass boxes. The existing building was given a new lease of life through a dialogue between the old and the new, including the inclusion of a circular cylinder in the space with the ceiling decoration of the time.
