- This is the architectural debut work of the designer, who is also an architectural historian, at the age of 45. Although the building was constructed of reinforced concrete to prevent fire, natural materials were actively incorporated, such as mortar with straw for walls, hand-sawn Spanish mackerel wood, and Teppei stone for the roof, to achieve a calm appearance that blends in with the surrounding landscape.
