- Designed by Beda Amri, the first African architect in East and Central Africa. The large funnel-shaped roof collects rainwater and, at the same time, provides ventilation by opening the building to the outside on all four sides, creating ample shade for the interior. The distinctive shape of the roof allows the building itself to become part of the landscape, and at the same time, it inherits the traditional market landscape of the region, which has been operated in the shade of trees.
