Pirelli Tower
Giovanni Ponti + Pier Luigi Nervi
- Outline
- This is the first example of a skyscraper, a symbol of American architectural culture, built in a European city center. Instead of a simple box shape, it has a triangular core at both ends, the middle of which is supported by two pairs of wall columns that narrow as they reach the top. The slits in the core and the floating roof give a neat impression.
