- In 1920, Nakamura went to Paris to study at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, but returned to Japan after the Great Kanto Earthquake. He published his reconstruction plan in his book "How should the urban planning of Tokyo be done? He introduced Le Corbusier's idea of Urbanism to Japan and applied the plan of the Haussmannian radial streets, which he critically accepted, to Tokyo, which was reduced to ashes by the earthquake.
