Monadnock Building
Daniel Hudson Burnham + John Wellborn Root
- Outline
- This 16-story office building spans 215 feet in height. It was designed by Burnham & Root, Chicago's largest architectural firm, and was realized as an undecorated masonry structure (base walls are 6 feet thick) at the client's request. Two years later, a three-story steel frame addition was added to the south side of the building, designed by Horabat & Roche.
