Toyotama Prison
Keiji Goto
- Outline
- A representative work by Keiji Goto. The pioneering form of this building, which incorporates North German expressionism, was created at a time when a new design for modern Japan was being sought against a backdrop of stylistic controversy. It is also very important as an example of the technical and design achievements of brick masonry architecture in Japan. The front gate still exists.
