Outline: A new junior high school building was constructed on the site of Fukushima Prefectural Azeko High School in conjunction with the transition to an integrated junior and senior high school. The exterior walls and roof of the adjacent Azumi Museum of History (former Azumi High School building) were transferred to form the axis of the new school building. The stair classrooms are located on the roof of the transferred Azumi Museum of History. The staircase classroom is 64 meters long in the east-west direction, and can accommodate approximately 180 students (two classes per grade).
