- Naruto City Hall (completed in 1963), designed by architect Tomoya Masuda, was reconstructed. The building has disaster prevention functions in anticipation of a Nankai Trough earthquake. The louvers and balconies around the perimeter of the building block direct sunlight and improve environmental performance, and provide an evacuation route, including an external staircase, in the event of a disaster. The canopy at the entrance was designed after the canopy of the former Naruto City Hall.
