Outline: The Hibiya Dai-ichi Seimei Kan (designed by Hitoshi Watanabe and Yosaku Matsumoto), completed in 1938, was preserved together with the adjacent Norinchukin Yurakucho Building in 1995 and rehabilitated as DN Tower 21 (designed by Shimizu Corporation and Kevin Roach, 9002, 9401, 9601 in this journal). In 2022, when Dai-ichi Life became the sole owner of the building, it was renovated into a head office building and tenant office building that can accommodate external tenants, while adding head office functions. While maintaining the historical value and design, the building was designed with consideration for the wellbeing of both internal and external workers of Dai-ichi Life Insurance.
