The house is located at an elevation of 1,021 meters above sea level in chino city, nagano prefecture. the building is a zero-energy house with a highly insulated structure with an average thermal transmittance ua value of 0.32 w/m2.k and photovoltaic power generation on the roof to reduce energy consumption by 162%. the ridge line of the roof harmonizes with the ridge line from mount kashigari in the northwest to yonezawa in chino city.
