NAGAREYAMA CITY OGURO-NO-MORI PRIMARY SCHOOL

A one-hour fire-resistant, three-story wooden elementary school (partly reinforced concrete, partly steel frame) in nagareyama city, chiba prefecture. 3rd floor classrooms are made of larch from shinano, nagano prefecture, processed into lvl lumber in chiba prefecture, with fix glass on the top. the beams, girders, ridges, and pillars are made of lvl cedar from chiba prefecture. in winter, outside air heated by solar radiation is drawn in through the ventilation layer of the metal roof and through the air control openings in the corridor ceiling.
