A school building for a forestry college where students learn specialized knowledge and skills related to the forestry industry in hokkaido. all major structural components and finishes are made of timber produced in hokkaido. the ceiling of the hall's atrium is made of core-dried larch and laminated larch. the structural frame is also made of abies sachalinensis and larch clt. | Hokkaido clt pavilion is a seven-year experimental building for research on the strength, environmental changes, and material properties of clts as part of a project to develop clts using larch and abies sachalinensis lumber from hokkaido, led by the forest products research institute, forest research division, hokkaido national research agency.
