BANCHO CHURCH

Outline
This project is to reconstruct a church built in 1886 in the city center. The church was built in 1929 after the Great Kanto Earthquake, and was designed by Arata Endo. Afterwards, it was rebuilt after the air raids of World War II. After that, it was rebuilt, and this time it was moved and newly built. A deep hole has been drilled in the ceiling to allow twilight rays to enter the chapel. The foyer is connected to the chapel to create a church that is open to the city.
