OKURA MUSEUM OF ART
TANIGUCHI AND ASSOCIATES
- Outline
- The Okura-Shukokan, Japan's first private art museum (established in 1917), was designed by Chuta Ito and constructed by Okura Corporation (now Taisei Corporation) in 1927. 6 meters of the building was towed away due to the relationship with The Okura Tokyo and Okura Square. The natural greenish-blue copper tile roof was temporarily removed and replaced with a new copper tile roof, including the underlayment.
