DAIYAGATE IKEBUKURO

Outline
Reconstruction of the Seibu Railway head office building located southeast of Ikebukuro Station. In addition to the site of the former head office building, land above and to the west of the adjacent Seibu Ikebukuro railway tracks will be used in an integrated manner. Access to the south side of the station will be enhanced by connecting the deck above the railroad tracks to the East-West Passage (East-West Deck) of Ikebukuro Station, which is planned by Toshima Ward. Due to the site conditions straddling the railroad, the low-rise section is designed with V-shaped pillars to increase the span. The upper office tower has a braced structure around the perimeter of the building, with seismic isolation in the middle layer. This increases the rigidity of the exterior and reduces the interlayer variation to a maximum of 1/150.
