- Seven machiya houses located on the old Tokaido highway, in the shopping district, and in the alleys off the street in Otsu City were renovated and converted into a hotel with rooms for rent. A local construction company, Taniguchi Komuten, specializes in wooden houses, and Jiyujin, a media creation company, planned and managed the project, which was subsidized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and supported by Otsu City.
