MOSAIC TILE MUSEUM

Outline
This four-story reinforced concrete public building was constructed on the site of the former town hall of Kasahara-cho, Tajimi City, the birthplace of mosaic tiles and the largest producer in Japan. The flat earthen walls are designed in the motif of a quarry for porcelain mosaic tiles made from clay, and broken porcelain tiles and tableware are inserted as accents.
