HANDA RED BRICK BUILDING

Outline
Renovation of a red-brick building designed by Yoriki Tsumaki (1859 - 1916) and constructed in 1898 as a brewery. Part of the building is half-timbered. The brickwork was reinforced by inserting reinforcing steel into the walls, and the exterior appearance was maintained as much as possible. The walls were repaired using red bricks from the Meiji period, and the wooden upper and lower windows were restored.
